I officially finished my Fall P90X/Insanity Hybrid Round last week! It was the first time I’d done a hybrid round but I really enjoyed it. I think P90X is a great framework and had done two rounds already before starting Insanity.

Insanity was a new set of challenges but a fantastic cardio-cranking program! I preferred the Cardio from Insanity to that in P90X, so a hybrid program was perfect.

I’d not eaten quite enough during my Insanity Round this summer, so a goal with the P90X/Insanity Hybrid was to AT LEAST eat enough and try to gain some lean muscle mass. I targeted roughly 3,000 calories daily which was a slight surplus for me.

Overall, I’m very pleased with the results. I gained some weight (but not too much fat) and visibly added some muscle size even on my fairly small frame:

Body Weight? +5 lbs
Body fat? +0.5%
Waist? +0.5″
Chest/Back? +3.0″
Hips? +0.75″
Thighs? +0.75″
Arms? +0.75″
Calves? no real change (calves are really hard to grow for me!)

As I launch into P90X2, I’m starting with a slight caloric surplus but not as much as I had for my last P90X Round.
